木工加工棚的目的是保护施工现场的施工人员，用钢管作为支撑框架，用竹签或竹篮板或废弃模板作为防砸，或者用高压线保护穿过防护棚的东西。一般双层保护是为了增加系数。钢筋防护棚和通道均为防护棚，部分防护棚建在塔吊覆盖的办公生活区。防护棚是施工过程中操作人员或人行的必经通道，过往人员的防护棚为双层。从悬挑脚手架的悬挑开始，每隔十米设置一个防护棚，可以更好的保证防护棚下行走人员的。在施工过程中，建造防护棚时应注意防护措施。施工人员应根据施工要求进行施工，现场混凝土搅拌机、卷扬机棚、钢筋棚、木棚，部分出入口和现场厕所应设置木工防护棚。

建造和拆除木工防护棚时，应指定专人指挥。管理者应注意眼、腿、口，采取有效的防护措施，应对危险情况，确保人员。在雨天和大风天气，应暂停防护棚的搭设和拆除，并检查和维护防护棚的质量。防护棚搭设完成后，经专职员验收合格后方可投入使用。技术交底应在搭设和拆除水平保护前进行。
